Description[]
Water is a very important resource to settlers and you will find you take up large spaces with digging out wells to keep the flow constant to your Brewery, Bakery and Stable.
All wells are proximity dependant to a storehouse but since you can have as many wells as you like (they don't take up any licences) its best to cluster them away from storehouses.
There are 5 kinds of well including the new Watermill:
Well[]
Found in Intermediate buildings this is the basic well and produces 1,000 water at 1 bucket per 3mins, can be dug on any open piece of land, is proximity dependant to the storehouse and takes one Settler to man.
Upgrades are provided by Tools and upgrades are lost once the Well expires.
As your colony grows it is handy to place your water in a grid, keep adding waterwells to it and watch your store of water to find out how many wells it takes to break even on consumption. Keep refilling the grid regularly to ensure a stable economy.
Deep Well[]
Found in Advanced buildings this is the next level well and produces 1,500 water at 1 bucket per 3 mins, can be dug on any open piece of land, is proximity dependant to the store house and takes one Settler to man. Upgrades are provided by Tools and upgrades are lost once the Well expires.
Bottomless Well[]
Found in Expert buildings this well contains 3,000 which is harvested at the rate of 1 bucket every 3 mins. It can be dug on any open piece of land, is proximity dependant to the store house and takes one Settler to man. Upgrades are provided by Tools and upgrades are lost once the Well expires.
Artesian wells[]
Found in the architect section of the Store, this well contains 6,000 water which is harvested at the rate of 1 bucket every 3 mins. It can be dug on any open piece of land, is proximity dependant to the store house and takes one Settler to man.
Watermill[]
Found in the architect section of the Store (alternatively in the events section) this is the premium well and produces infinite water at the rate of 1 bucket per 3 mins. It can be dug on any open piece of land (even though it takes up a 3x2 space, long way north-east), is proximity dependant to the storehouse and takes one Settler to man.
Like the wells, it can be upgraded to create an additional bucket of water per cycle. Unline the wells, it should be upgraded quickly, to free up well-space for more interesting buildings.
