The Resources section of the Store is is where you find bulk resource buffs to save time on production at the cost of Gems.
These boosts help make the early parts of the game move quickly but in the long term they are just a drop in the ocean.

In the long run this whole store is an incredibly poor waste of precious gems that can be saved up instead for higher powered and longer lasting items.
For example you can purchase 200 Gold Coins for 700 Gems that you will spend very easily on just 2 or 3 upgrades where as a permanent +10 Building Licences in the Arcitects Store is only 650 Gems. That might seem like a lot of Gems but you will easily get 4 Licences by the time you reach level 42 through daily login rewards and simple leveling up.
